Background

Since its establishment in 1983, PERMODA has been a key player in clothing manufacturing. The company expanded rapidly between 1990 and 1995, opening several branches. Today, PERMODA employs 3,000 people and operates over 400 stores across Latin America. Their comprehensive production process includes weaving, knitting, dyeing and finishing, and sewing. At same time, they offer a wide range of products, including men's and women's apparel, suits, T-shirts, shirts, and jeans.

In 2015, PERMODA began a fruitful collaboration with SUNTECH, purchasing various textile machines like fabric relaxing and inspection machines. This partnership has significantly enhanced our product quality, optimized PERMODA's production processes, and increased efficiency. In 2022, PERMODA was honored as one of the 30 most innovative companies by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, the Secretariat of the Bogota Economic Development Zone, and the National Association of Entrepreneurs of Colombia (ANDI). Our "KOAJ Circular" product line was particularly recognized. This initiative focuses on the redesign, recycling, and remanufacturing of 1,000 kg of textile waste generated during production, showcasing the dedication to science, technology, and innovation. PERMODA remains at the forefront of sustainable practices, driving significant advancements in the industry.

As an important industry in Colombia, textile and garment production has developed rapidly in recent years. Garment companies have actively invested in more modern machinery and equipment to integrate into the fierce global competition. On the other hand, the end customers have high requirements for finished garments, which requires manufacturers to care more about the product qualification rate of each batch of fabrics to avoid low qualification rates that cause loss of raw materials and increase costs.

PERMODA's initial level of textile mechanization was not high enough, necessitating the need for professional suppliers to provide suitable machinery, along with installation and maintenance advice. As a large-scale manufacturer, PERMODA sought machinery that occupies less space, automates production processes, and comes with detailed installation guides. Classic Fabric Relaxing Solutions

SUNTECH's Upgraded Air Type Fabric Relaxing Machine is engineered to eliminate tension in various fabrics, especially knitted ones, aiding in achieving a perfect fit for garments. This machine is crucial for PERMODA, which primarily produces denim and elastic knitted fabrics. Proper tension release is vital to ensure accurate pattern making and consistent garment sizes without wasting fabric.

Before adopting SUNTECH's fabric relaxing machines, PERMODA relied on 20 traditional tables to release fabric tension, which was space-consuming and time-intensive. They needed to release 10,000 meters of fabric every hour, a demanding task for the traditional setup.

With SUNTECH's machines, one machine can replace two traditional tables, meaning only 10 fabric relaxing machines are needed to meet PERMODA's production requirements. These machines are more compact, saving at least 60% of space, and reduce fabric relaxing time by at least 24 hours.

SUNTECH customized the Roll-to-Pleit fabric relaxing machine for PERMODA, tailored to their production needs. These machines are easy to operate and require minimal maintenance, providing a cost-effective solution for PERMODA's manufacturing.
